FESTIVE HELPING HAND FOR SEFTON FAMILIES
Sefton Childrens Trust – a charity which is run entirely by volunteers - has distributed toy and food hampers to around 68 families it supports locally.
Sefton Childrens Trust, which was established in 1984, supports families with children aged between 8 and 12 years of age who are living in families experiencing difficulties.
The charity’s aim is to provide children with respite, enhance their personal and social development and help them to access positive activities and networks in their local community.
It does this by providing an annual family social event, Christmas hampers, and a week-long summer residential which this year was part-funded by a grant from the NHS South Sefton CCG and NHS Southport and Formby CCG Voluntary Community and Faith Fund, managed by Sefton CVS.
Sefton Childrens Trust Trustee and Founder Linda Hurst, commented: “We’re very grateful to the CCGs and all of our supporters for their contributions to our programme of activities and hope that the opportunities we provide help to reduce some of the stresses these children and families face, especially at this special time of year”.
